Trying to mix science and art.

following your forum post about wanting a critique... here's one for your gallery >w<

your proportion of your characters is really pretty good, but the anatomy is a little off... everything is the correct size, but maybe not so much the shape. i think you'll be fine with that with a little more practice, though.

you're not drawing many backgrounds it looks like yet, so i can't really say much about them except for the Romantic Scene picture. the grass there was rendered very nicely but not so much the trees... also, it wasn't a very descriptive background. i think it would help to look at and practice some landscape art... in the end, the scenery should be just as, if not even more interesting than the characters... bringing the viewer into your world, so to speak.

speaking manga here... i also think it would be good to pay more attention to your line variation when inking. usually the outer lines are heavy and the inner lines are drawn finely to create viewer interest.

as far as coloring goes... i love watermedia. it's great for manga. with the pencils i can see you've done some shading, but there isn't much contrast, or differences in value. i can't always see the lightsource. sometimes it can help to put a scanned picture into photoshop or something and put it in black and white. then you can really see if everything's too similar a value.

...ok that was alot, hopefully it's helpful? i'd love it if you'd crit my stuff, too... my professors say it's juvenile @_@.
